The two names mentioned are Self and Floyd and honestly neither of those seem any more viable than Gillespie. Self leaving Kansas seems VERY unlikely to me.
What coaches would you like to see considered.
Dale and I would like to see Jeff Bzdelik who is at Air Force. His offense is a thing of beauty to watch. I think somebody Beverley, Welsh and Weems would thrive in that kind of system because they are quick with such good jump shots.

Andy Katz is on Cold Pizza talking about coaching changes. From the way he sounds, we are going to screw this up. It doesn't sound like we set Gillespie up as well as we should have before firing Stan. Gillespie has not been formally offered and from the sound of it hasn't even had that much contact with Frank. Everyone seems to think the idea of us getting Self is a joke. "Looks like Arkansas could be looking to plan C."

I'm starting to get a very bad feeling about all of this.

The way I look at it, it's not like Gillespie and Self are the only two good coaches out there. And I don't think we were going to be any better next year with the same coach and all the same players. So anything new is an improvement, IMO.
The athletic administration might end up looking stupid for a while if we settle for a 2nd tier coach but in the end I'm happy about whatever the new direction is for the program.

I think with Stan Heath and another year experience for these Freshmen, we would be much better this year obviously, we won't get to see. If we get a top teir coach, and the talent stays we can be better than Stan Heath with this group. If you get a 2nd tier coach and maybe have to deal with transfers, I'm not sure. What I'm afraid of is that with the last 2 coaching changes we made, we experienced some growing pains. Eddie Sutton was 22-13, 10-6 SWC, 2nd in conference, and lost 2nd round of NCAA's final season here. Nolan followed with 12-16, 4-12 SWC, 7th place, and a loss in the first round of the SWC tournament. Nolan was 14-15, 6-10 SEC, 4th in West, and lost in the first round of the SEC tournament (actually Anderson won the last regular season game and lost the SECT game). Stan Heath followed with a 9-19, 4-12 SEC, 5th in the West, and another first game SECT loss. We finally got the program in the right direction. I'm not prepared to step backwards again. The one thing this hire should have going for it is player continuity. Sutton's final year had 2 S. starters Joe Kliene (#1 in pts, rbs) and Charles Balentine (#2 in pts, rbs). Nolan's final team had 3 Sr starters Dean, Pargo, Gipson plus freshman starter JJ Sullinger who transferred. Leaving Gomez and Satchell who each had 12 starts and combined for 7.9 points and 7.8 ppg. Barring transfers, we should have all our starters back. I just hope that's enough to avoid putting us in a hole.

I guess I would just rather take a shot, because honestly I didn't think we'd ever have a great team with Heath as coach. Just my opinion.

It wasn't the freshman who were the problem, it was the junior and the fact that we haven't had a Point Guard in all of Heath's years here.
This love of Heath is insane, his teams have put together 2 good runs at the end of the year in the past two years cover up the fact that his teams have played like crap in over half the games before that. I'm sorry, Heath is a great guy, but now that he's gone, we're gonna get an upgrade even if it is an up and comer.
Also, Mike Anderson isn't coming back, it's not going to happen, let it go.
BCG is stupid for not coming here, unless he's playing us for more money, it's a dumb move because he's about to have to replace Acie Law 4 and that's a tough job.
Andy Katz likes Heath, but the ESPN people didn't watch our games, they didn't see how badly this team played against an LSU team that was fighting it's way to the bottom of the SEC, how they got destroyed by MSU, blew a lead against UK late in the game, blew a comfortable lead to UGA, lost to one of the worst South Carolina team's in years, got destroyed by Mizzou, forgot where the hoop was during the first half of the TTech game.
And I could name more. All the ESPN talking head people know is that Heath is a nice guy who snuck Ark into the tourney the past to years. More went into this decision than getting into the tourney.

The ESPN people know absolutely nothing about the state of our program in regards to attendance, etc...

KFSM storySounds like Gillespie isn't interested in Arkansas. If things go as they have the past few years, this is bound to become a huge mess before it is over.
