The Nets have officially waived Joe Johnson.
Johnson will now be free to join a team of his choosing, and the Cavaliers are reportedly at the top of his list, which isn't great news for his fantasy value. With Johnson no longer a part of the equation in Brooklyn, there will be more minutes available for Bojan Bogdanovic, Markel Brown, Wayne Ellington and Ronda Hollis-Jefferson (ankle). Bogdanovic will likely return to the starting lineup, and he should have a larger role on offense moving forward, although even with the increased minutes he's unlikely to be much more than a 3-point specialist in deep leagues. RHJ, however, makes for a very intriguing stash due to his ability to rack up the steals.

Yeah, I'm sure he's going to chase that ring now. Hopefully he can find a good spot to land.

Not sure about that move. Wouldn't exactly call the Heat 'contenders.'

Jae Crowder and Derrick Rose have been traded to the Jazz.
The Jazz sent Joe Johnson to Sacramento and Rodney Hood to the Cavaliers, so Crowder does land in a nice spot. Crowder will likely see time at the 3 and 4 in Utah, competing with the likes of Joe Ingles, Royce O'Neale and Derrick Favors. He was terrible in Cleveland, but maybe he benefits from a fresh start. He's on the radar as a pickup, but it's no guarantee that he ever returns to the form he had in Boston.

Joe Johnson will seek a buyout from Sacramento, according to NBA reporter David Aldridge.
Johnson was shipped from Utah to Sacramento as part of a three-team deal at the deadline. Johnson will have plenty of interested suitors. Aldridge notes that the Rockets are one of the teams that will pursue Johnson. From a fantasy perspective, it's unlikely that he'll land somewhere that will play him the minutes necessary to be a fantasy contributor in standard leagues.

Joe Johnson has committed to signing with Houston once his buyout is complete with Sacramento, according to Adrian Wojnarowski‏ of ESPN.
Johnson averaged career-lows in points (7.3) and minutes (21.9) in Utah this season. He will see even less playing time in Houston, as the Rockets have plenty of depth in the backcourt and on the wing. It's a smart signing by Houston to add a proven playoff performer in Johnson, but it does not boost Johnson's limited fantasy value.

Free agent Joe Johnson has workouts scheduled with the Bucks, Nets and Pistons.
Johnson is 38 years old but he rejuvenated NBA teams' interest with a fantastic run in the Big3, a three-on-three league, earning MVP honors and clinching the league's championship with a game-winning shot as LeBron James looked on from the stands. The seven-time All-Star has already worked out for Philly, while reportedly drawing interest from the Clippers, Nuggets and Pelicans. It sounds like he'll eventually join a playoff contender's roster, but he's not going to help fantasy owners.
