I believe the mid-week daytime games and early season lack of star appeal will hurt, but I am going with my mathematical projection instead of what I think.

Week 1: 681 + 1,742 + 1,912 + 1,334 = 5,669 nobody eliminated after week 1!

Week 2: 1,841 + 673 + 2,425 + 3,511 = 8,450
Total so far: 5,669 + 8,450 = 14,119

I said all preseason that we would be down this year, then when it came time to make my pick I went on average attendance from last year minus 10%. That projected to a slight overall increase from last year due to the increased number of games.
As of right now, we will have to AVERAGE 8,500 for SEC games and 5,000 for non-conference games to equal last year's attendance. The afternoon games against Centenary and N. Colorado will hurt the non-conference average. We may need that 56th game to get there.

I don't think anyone accounted enough for the effect of having 5 games a week. The casual fan who could take off for a midweek game because the Friday game is at night is somewhat eliminated when we have 3 games a week that start before 5 PM. I think we have had a noticeably lower attendance for the midweek games and even a lower attendance at Friday games.

I also think the Naturals are going to have a negative impact on attendance, at least for this year while it is new. I did not think either one would impact the other, but several "casual" fans I have talked to can't wait for the Naturals and have only been to 1 or 2 Razorbacks games so far.

gee...who picked the lowest number??
I really expected a struggling mid-pack of the SEC-type-year. I also know the NBA (National Bandwagon Association) fans of the past 2 years stay home if it is cold, overcasts, or we lose a couple in a row.....
The compacted season certainly is stressing fans when there are 5/week, but this lull before the next home game is horrible (but, a rainout in Fayetteville would have been better than what we witnessed today).
PS: I want to LOSE this contest....I hope we win the rest of our games, I will welcome the NBA crowd with open arms, feed them, and all go to Omaha. I dream.
