and that's a good thing. Special teams are still a big problem. Kickoff and kickoff coverage need to get a lot better. There is NO WAY Fish and Smith are our two best options at punt returner. That just isn't possible.
Reggie Fish should not start for us. I know we have better receivers. Where is Chris Baker?
Our defense adjusted at halftime but our secondary worries the hell out of me still. They don't seem to be able to make plays unless they are committing a penalty.

But where are the ladders?  From listening to the game via the Troy announcers, that all sounds like the points they made. they were very impressed by DMAC. They were very annoyed at the calls, and said there was a lot of pushing and shoving in our secondary. |

I was reading a little on their board about complaining about the refs but I really didn't think the refs were that big of a deal in the game. They were shoving plenty too, and there were at least 2 times they could have called offensive pass interference and they didn't.
Also their o line was shoving after the whistle on almost every play.

Some of my thoughts now that I've had some time to digest it - I was disappointed in the o-line. Thought they would look better. Our secondary was a joke last night and if they don't get a lot better in a hurry we won't win 8 this year. I don't understand why we didn't go after their qb more. That was when we had the most successs, especially in the first half. Still don't love the playing calling at times. The D-Mac to Tuck TD was a thing of beauty!!  D-Mac has got to keep up his end on the kickoffs or Jones won't get any chances. I don't understand how every other team in the country manages to return punts on a regular basis and we can't ever fair catch one!  The kickoffs need to be better. The coverage didn't have time to get down the field last night. Tejada is legit. Looking forward to having him around the next four years! This bye week should be very helpful. Got to get a lot better to have a chance with 'Bama. Any chance Felix get's into the Heisman mix before it's over? ;D |
