I heard Coach P offered Rotnei Clark before this guy. Of course that was on rumorville.

Why is he offering a scholarship to a Sophomore when we have to fill out this year first?

I don't have any thoughts on this, I have no idea how good this kid is.
But I would like to know who will fill out our roster next year too.

I have watched him play and he is the real deal. From what I have been told, Pelphrey is trying to get it known that he is going to build the fence. He offered Sanchez already, and Gulley was consensus the best sophomore in the state.

Gulley comes from a talented family. Sister plays for Gary Blair at A&M.

It's fine with me if he wants to build a fence, but there seem to be other priorities at this point. Namely filling the scholarships for next year and getting another assistant coach.

Stan Heath offered him when he was in 6th grade, so Pelphrey was just confirming the standing offer.

it may have been a PR move on his part too. How better to get the local fans behind you, than offer to a local boy? and it doesn't hurt anything, does it?
but, I too, would like to know who he's gonna offer for next year?

Well it isn't like he hasn't offered Sanchez for next year. I am still skeptical about him though. He played well this season, but I don't think he has ever played up to his potential.
