As I sit here pondering all that is our athletic department and what direction it is headed, something struck me out of the blue. You will soon see that this is far-fetched and would NEVER happen, but is fun to think about.
The person who assumes this role must be a charismatic figure who can unify the fan base from all corners of the state and all demographics.
What if I told you that we could get an AD who has the following qualifcations:
- Has managed a multi-million dollar coporation.
- Has been in the national spotlight and subject of intense media scrutiny for over 15 years, which has never seemed to bother him.
- Developed a brandmark that has grown in product sales yearly for the last 6-7 years, so he could teach our marketing department a thing or two.
- Could have every donor/ booster eating out of his hand from day one, people absolutely love the guy.
- Is brutally honest with people, doesn't care what people think about him.
- Is very generous with his time and resources, especially to those most in need.
- Is absolutely not afraid to take risks, sometimes to a fault.
- Has endured the highest of highs, giving credit to those around him and the fans.
- Has endured the lowest of lows, accepting blame and pointing the finger at himself.
This is as far as I can go without giving away the candidate for the next Arkansas AD. His campaign slogan would be something he said about 12 years ago on the heels of one of his career highpoints, "I love the University of Arkansas, but I wasn't into class. I went to school there to watch football and basketball and to play golf."

He's got my vote. Of course I assume the beer is free at his inauguration
I think I like that one a little bit more than Drizzle's choice of Bill Clinton.

He's got my vote. Of course I assume the beer is free at his inauguration ....and in the HogPen....and in the Redzone. You know that problem about having less than 500 students at basketball games, no more. Easily 2,000 camping out waiting to get in.  |

just tell us this: will the next AD have the balls to make the necessary changes in the athletic department that need to be made? Just tell us that will ya? PH2?
