Did anyone else notice that the story didn't make it clear when the game happened? When you wait five days before putting out a release you should really make it clear when the game was. One of the local newscasts tonight said the game was last night! Everything I saw or heard made it seem like it just happened. Nice job HogWired! As usual!!

Not that Hogwired doesn't have its problems, but I think the first sentence says the game was last Friday.

A few helpful hints.
To Joe Becker Stadium. 71 north to I-44. Get on I-44 by taking the Tulsa(west) exit. Go a couple of miles west on I-44 to the Rangeline Exit. Exit onto Rangeline and go north all the way to 4th street. (some 40 or so blocks) Turn left or west onto 4th Street and go all the way to High Street. Turn right on High Street to 3rd and High. There is Joe Becker.
On Rangeline will be Cheddars, Red Hot and Blue, Ruby Tuesday, Olive Garden, Outback, Jim Bobs (local), etc, etc; restaurant alley so to speak. On north of 4th and Rangeline is Johnny C's and Roadhouse. The Northpark Mall is just north of 4th and Rangline on the east side of Rangeline. Buffalo Wild Wings is just north of the mall. Good local food. Go on north of Joe Becker on High Street just a couple of blocks to Broadway that runs east and west. Hacketts Memphis style wings is right on the corner. GREAT (the best) wings. Turn right (east) on Broadway and go a few blocks to Lumpy's. GREAT bbq.
Joe Becker has bench seats with a roof along both baselines and there is also plenty of room for lawn chairs if that is your preference.

I'm quite sure this is far more than you ever wanted to know about Joe Becker Stadium but here goes anyway. Mickey Mantle signed his first Yankee contract and was sent to play shortstop for their farm team in Joplin. (Joplin Miners). Joe Becker was one of the first Miner coaches. Since Joplin was in the Yankee farm system some of the legendary Yankees came through Joplin. It was quite a ball park in its day. An old wood structure with a roof and seating that went far down each fowl line. It burned to the ground in the 70's and what is here now is what was rebuilt. For the last 10 or so years Joe Becker has been home to the US Junior baseball team tryouts. The best jr and sr high school players in the country.

Team improved to 18-2 with a 6-5 victory over Japan last night. Schmidt took a no-decision, giving up two runs on six hits in six innings. He also made an error.

St.Clair blows the lead and Schmidt's win then gets the win for himself

Nick came out of the pen yesterday. He threw two innings and gave up no hits or runs. He walked one and struck out two.
They should be taking off for Cuba now.

USA wins 15-0 over Puerto Rico behind Nick Schmidt. Nick went 5 innings, 2 hits, no runs and 6 strike outs. It was a seven inning game (run rule, I guess).

Nice to see.
They're supposed to play two today. That might also explain the 7 innings.

That's awesome. I wonder how many schools are represented with a member on Team USA for baseball and basketball.

USA advances to the quarterfinals tomorrow. They went through pool play with a 5-0 record, out scoring their opponents 59-6.
SEC players make up 8 of the 22 roster spots and 4 of the 9 regular position/ DH starters. No question, Charlie - The best players are in the SEC.
