I don't have the article handy but have you guys heard about Lister blaming his poor performance on the Metric system. Lister was apparently not allowed to bring in his own tape measure with English units. He was unable to convert his starting point distance in his head, the result was 2 fouls.
3 thoughts on this one. 1. What kind of threat did they think Listers tape measure posed? 2. Not going to dog the math skills because that's hard to do in your head. But it seems to me if I was always going from the same distance, I might get a tape measure with both on it an pay attention to what the distance was in metric and english just in case. 3. Why didn't the officials or his coach or somebody offer some help with the conversion, especially after one foul.
