In a eight-part series, SEBaseball.com publisher Mark Etheridge takes a peek at the key personnel losses from 2004 and who will need to pick up the slack in 2005. We'll start by observing three teams in the SEC West, Alabama, Auburn, and SEC co-champion Arkansas. Need to be a subscriber sebaseball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=321321

It's been awhile so I'll post some of it:
Biggest Losses * 1. Jay Sawatski, Arkansas * 2. Steven Register, Auburn * 3. Taylor Tankersley, Alabama * 4. Brady Toops, Arkansas * 5. Tug Hulett/Chuck Jeroloman, Auburn
Jay Sawatski performed as the swing pitcher for Dave Van Horn's College World Series participant Razorbacks. The lefty started opening day, then struggled a bit sending him to the bullpen where he found his groove. Down the stretch Sawatski was superb often pitching in multiple games each weekend. Filling his shoes won't be easy. The Hogs will likely need to turn to several pitchers who hopefully can combine to provide the production void his departure created.
Brady Toops established himself as one of the top defensive catchers in the south a year ago. Runners did not stray far from safety with the aggressive Toops behind the dish. Toops also came through at the plate with some clutch hits - especially during their postseason run. The top candidate to replace Toops is rising sophomore Blake Parker. Parker saw time in the outfield a year ago but will don the shinguards in 2005.
