Vote is in: Ask Cliff Lee if he deserves to be an All-Star this season and he won't be bashful about his answer.
"It's out of my control," he said. "But if I could vote on it, I'd vote for myself."
He knows that Red Sox manager Terry Francona will be picking the pitchers and extra players for the Midsummer Classic next month in Detroit, so it might be to Lee's benefit to pitch well against Boston in his outing next week.
"If I make it, I'd love to [play in the All-Star Game]," said Lee, whose 8-3 record and 3.33 ERA are All-Star worthy. "If not, I have another half of the season to play."
