Fore warned
Before taking the field as the starting catcher for the West, Brady Toops of Quad-Cities joined a number of all-stars on the golf course.
He discovered one thing pretty quickly.
"None of us are golfers. We're hackers,'' Toops said.
The rare game-day outing wasn't a total loss for Toops.
"I found more balls than I lost,'' he said.

Just for the record, I DIDN'T find more balls than I lost. In fact, I had only two balls left going into #17 and I decided that if I lost a ball on 17 I would quit the hole and walk to the 18th tee so I could at least tee off on the last hole. Fortunately I still had one ball in my pocket when I finished 18. Still, a good time was had by all. For those of you who are golf people, the course was designed by an assistant in Jack Nicklaus' design company who then subsequently was on the ill-fated Payne Stewart plane where all on board died.
