CATCHING A GLIMPSE
Without a game on the schedule Wednesday, the Mets' minor leaguers played intra-squad games on the back fields here. One of the stranger sights was former Binghamton third baseman Rodney Nye catching right-hander Ken Chenard for three innings.
Nye, who appears to be battling 32-year-old veteran Jed Hansen for the starting third base job in Norfolk, figures to be no more than an emergency catcher, although the Mets think learning a new position may increase his versatility. He played 369 games for the B-Mets, second-most in franchise history, from 2001-03 before batting .277 in his first full Triple-A season.

I don't think that 32 year old is some hot prospect. Give Rodney a chance!
