Rays placed RHP Ryne Stanek on the 10-day injured list with hip soreness.
Stanek has seen a lot of action this year in small spurts. He's pitched in 41 games including 27 starts and has a 3.40 ERA in 55 2/3 innings. No word yet on the severity of his injury.

Marlins acquired RHP Ryan Stanek from the Marlins in a four-player deal with the Rays.
Stanek is currently on the injured list, but is expected to be activated by the end of the week. The right-hander has mostly pitched as an opener for the Rays, and he has already made 27 "starts" before he went on the disabled list with hip soreness. It's possible we'll see him pitch in a much different role for the Marlins, as the closer spot is wide open in Miami. The stuff is certainly there for Stanek to succeed in that role.

Ryne Stanek earned his first career save in the Marlins' 3-2 win over the Phillies on Sunday.
Stanek issued a walk to the first batter he faced in the top of the ninth inning, but he promptly retired the next three to protect Miami's one-run lead. The 28-year-old trade-deadline acquisition could be the primary saves man down the stretch for the Marlins, though they're probably not going to win many games.
