Jalen Beeks turned in three scoreless innings and was rewarded with a win against the Marlins on Wednesday.
He followed opener Ryne Stanek and pitched impressively, allowing four hits and no walks while striking out four. The 25-year-old left-hander is well-suited to a multi-inning relief role and it shows in his stats. He improves to 3-0 with one save and a 2.25 ERA in 11 games. He has a fine 33:10 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 32 innings.
