2/16:The San Francisco Giants have agreed to terms with free-agent outfielder Craig Gentry (Orioles) on a minor-league deal with an invitation to spring training. He spent most of the 2018 major league season with the Orioles organization, posting a slash line of .269/.321/.346 across 68 games in the majors. He is expected to head to the team's minor-league camp, but he might get a chance to prove himself during Cactus League games with the big club. The 35-year-old has a chance to win a bench spot, as the Giants have two outfield starting jobs and bench spots all available. However, even if he breaks camp with the team, his fantasy value in NL-only leagues if rather minimal.

Craig Gentry has officially retired from baseball. Gentry's agent Bob Garber shared that news with MLBTradeRumors.com on Thursday morning. The 35-year-old outfielder signed a minor league contract with the Rockies on April 13 but appeared in only three games with the club's Triple-A affiliate in Albuquerque before deciding to call it quits. He finishes with 325 career major league hits spread over 10 seasons. One of my all-time favorites!
