Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that Blake Parker and the Twins are finalizing a one-year contract worth slightly more than $3 million.
Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic says it's $3.2 million, to be exact. The reliever will be arbitration-eligible again in 2020, so the Twins will have him under team contract for two years. As it stands right now, Parker looks like the favorite to close in Minnesota. He has posted a 2.90 ERA and 156/35 K/BB ratio over 133 2/3 innings while notching 22 saves across the last two seasons.

Blake Parker converted his second save of the year Wednesday in the Twins’ win over Kansas City.
Trevor May did most of the heavy lifting, recording the first two outs before passing the baton to Parker, who finished the ninth inning by inducing a game-ending Alex Gordon groundout. Even if he didn’t have to work too hard for it, the save was Parker’s second in as many days. The Twins haven’t officially settled on a ninth-inning arm but from the looks of it, manager Rocco Baldelli prefers to have Parker close with May working the eighth. Consider this your cue to add Parker, who is only rostered in 13 percent of Yahoo leagues at the moment.

Blake Parker turned in a scoreless ninth against the Blue Jays on Wednesday for his fourth save.
Parker was given a three-run lead, so this was an easy one for him. Parker has allowed just one run in 6 1/3 innings this season, even though he's walked five batters. He'll be the clear favorite for saves in the Minnesota bullpen until he blows a chance.

Blake Parker played with fire but didn't get burned Tuesday, escaping trouble while pitching 1 1/3 scoreless innings to earn the save in the Twins' 4-3 win over the Angels.
With a runner on first and two outs, Twins manager Rocco Baldelli called on Parker to face Albert Pujols in hopes of holding their one-run lead. A Pujols single brought Brian Goodwin to the dish, and he also singled, but Byron Buxton was able to gun down Shohei Ohtani at home to keep the lead intact. A relatively uneventful ninth inning allowed Parker to escape with his seventh save. The 33-year-old had to earn the gig, but he's been terrific in doing so, posting a 1.20 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 15 innings of work through Tuesday.

Twins designated RHP Blake Parker for assignment. Parker started the year as the closer for the Twins and did pick up 10 saves, but he's really struggled as of late, and after four runs in the loss to the Yankees on Tuesday, the Twins have decided to move on. If Parker clears waivers, he can report back to Triple-A, but he also can elect free agency. A team could be interested in the right-hander in either capacity.

Phillies signed RHP Blake Parker to a one-year contract.
Parker was able to fetch a major league deal after being designated for assignment by the Twins last week. The 34-year-old has scuffled with a 4.21 ERA in 37 relief appearances this season, but he's not far removed from being a valuable bullpen piece.
