The Nets have fired head coach Lionel Hollins and general manager Billy King will step down.
"After careful consideration, I've concluded that it's time for a fresh start and a new vision for the direction of this team," Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov said. "By making this decision now, it enables our organization to use the rest of the season to diligently evaluate candidates with proven track records." It's hard to blame Hollins due to the lack of talent on the roster, but it was obvious that King had to go after making some brutal trades that severely hurt the Nets. Assistant coach Tony Brown will serve as the interim head coach for the time being. With this announcement, the Nets could be very busy at the trade deadline.
