According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Knicks have declined to pick up Bobby Portis' team option.
Given the fact that Portis would have made $15.7 million next season, it comes as no surprise that the Knicks would decline his option. This move, along with the decisions to waive Taj Gibson and Elfrid Payton frees up money for New York ahead of free agency. The expectation is that the Knicks will be aggressive in their pursuit of Raptors point guard Fred VanVleet, to name one free agent on the team's radar.

Bobby Portis has reportedly agreed to a two-year deal with the Bucks.
Portis' contract with Milwaukee has a player option on Year-2, and he could serve in a bit of a sixth man role as he helps back up the Bucks' bigs. We're not expecting much from him in fantasy hoops, but his departure from New York is good news for Mitchell Robinson, as it's one less person he'll need to compete with for minutes.

Bobby Portis has agreed to return to the Bucks on a two-year deal worth $9 million.
The fan-favorite returns for at least one more season, with the second year of this contract being a player option. He'll have a similar role with the club next year, acting as a spark plug off the bench, but he's not in a good position for fantasy value.
