They vacate the victory, but we still get no win.

It's too bad the NCAA didn't bother to take a good look at that program sooner...

How could they have known there was a problem? There was no hint of allegations before the Bowl game. There was no reason to expect the players should have been suspended...
I know I'm not the first to bring this up, but when are we going to get real punishments for violations. "Vacated" wins is the stupidest concept invented. Do opponents get to "vacate" the loss? If they cheated to win, then they should [glow=red,2,300]forfeit[/glow]. Yes, it will be a burden on statisticians everywhere to make the corrections, but you have to do the same for a vacated win.
As others have said, you really start impacting Universities when you hit them in the checkbook. If they didn't play in the Sugar Bowl, they should not get any of that money. If their fans didn't see any games this year, they should get a refund on their tickets.

If their fans didn't see any games this year, they should get a refund on their tickets. You know, I was thinking.... If their fans didn't see any games this year, they should get a refund on their tickets! Absolute genius! Raise your hand if you don't think one instance of that would put a stop to at least 90% of the shenanigans. Anybody? I didn't think so. Brilliant, Heathhog!
