The Raptors have extended a qualifying contract offer to G/F Sonny Weems, making him a restricted free agent.
By extending the qualifying offer to Weems, the Raptors will now be able to match any offer on him. Even though Weems played last season in Lithuania, the Celtics, Cavs, Pistons and Clippers all reportedly expressed interest in signing him before the draft, but it remains to be seen which teams are still interested. Weems is still only 25 years old and could provide swing man help to several NBA teams.

The Raptors have withdrawn their qualifying offer for Sonny Weems, making him an unrestricted free agent.
The QO was worth $1.1 million, but it seems the Raptors decided they wouldn't even want him on a one-year deal. A handful of teams have expressed interest in Weems, including the Cavaliers, Celtics, Clippers and Pistons.

Sonny Weems signed a three-year contract with CSKA Moscow on Sunday.
Weems signed with a team in Lithuania last season, averaging 15.5 points in 30 minutes per game. The Raptors withdrew a $1.1 million qualifying offer for Weems this summer and he obviously had much greater appeal in the EuroLeague.

Former Raptors swingman Sonny Weems is reportedly leaving CSKA Moscow to pursue an NBA contract.
It's a bold move for the 27-year-old Weems, who is "leaving around $6 million on the table in Russia." Weems averaged 13.1 points in 26.9 minutes per game with CSKA last season, and seems to have improved his shooting range -- he made 37.1 percent of his 3-pointers last year after making only 24.1 percent in three NBA seasons from 2008-2011. He's not currently on the fantasy radar.
