If the SEC takes the Big 12 leftovers, and increases their numbers, does the SEC get 2 bids too?
The Pac-10 adding Texas (and Oklahoma) gives them additional national caliber teams (in football), the SEC already has 2-3 of those (Alabama, Florida, LSU), so all we need is additional teams. Baylor, TCU, Kansas, Missouri, or whoever wouldn't help with adding large TV markets, but would be teams to get the number up to be an equivalent "super" conference.
This re-alignment might also be the undoing of the current flawed BCS.

SEC should add FSU, Miami, Clemson and maybe Virginia Tech

I agree Tiki, but I bet UF opposes adding FSU and Miami. I think they feel being in the SEC is a recruiting advantage over the other Florida schools. At least expanding in the east, fits with the conference name. Nothing says "pacific coast" like Austin or Norman.

I've thought all along Texas was looking for an easy way out and would push OU to the SEC. Two BCS bids would set up Texas and USC with almost free passes.
Latest report from a Kansas City TV station has OU begging to get in the SEC, but Texas and A&M seeking admission to the Big 10. Oklahoma State headed to PAC-xx.

SEC should add FSU, Miami, Clemson and maybe Virginia Tech I kinda like the idea of adding Texas (SPIT!) and OU in the West and F$U and Clemson / Virginia Tech in the East... Virginia would spread the conference out a little more than F$U or Clemson, since it would be a currently unrepresented state...

I also heard on Mike & Mike this morning the idea of Kansas being an independent in basketball only, and part of the Mountain West or whatever in other sports... I can see that happening, but I would think it would be a bear filling your schedule during the heart of other teams' conference season... Who'd wanna schedule KU in the midst of their conference schedule, assuming KU stayed as strong in basketball as it is now...
