There is a sense among UT officials the academics in the SEC are not on par with Texas.
Way to be consistently arrogant on all accounts.

Exhibit 1: Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds has maintained that the Longhorns will do whatever it takes to remain the Jones' of college football.
Translation---> The Longhorns would like to stay-in/join only a league which we can dominate.
Exhibit 2: There is also reason to believe Oklahoma could be enamored with joining the SEC. But that does not appear to be an option Texas officials would be willing to consider. There is a sense among UT officials the academics in the SEC are not on par with Texas.
Translation---> "So...do we join the SEC or not?"
"And get our butts kicked 3 or 4 times a year instead of once? No thanks. Make up some kind of reason that has at least a 10% chance that it might be considered a good excuse."
