AETN Will Air Documentary on Former Razorback Coach John McDonnell by ArkansasSports360.com Staff
Former Arkansas track coach John McDonnell won 40 national titles at Arkansas. AETN will air a documentary on his life and success next month. Most Arkansas fans know that John McDonnell won 40 national track and field and cross country titles with the Razorbacks. What they might not know is the story behind McDonnell's success.
"The Greatest Coach - Ever!", a documentary from Larry Foley and Jim Borden, details McDonnell's life and success and will air on AETN throughout next month. They begin with McDonnell's life growing up on a farm in Ireland and follow his 36-year career at Arkansas.
McDonnell's story premiers at 6:30 p.m. on March 3. It runs again at 6:30 p.m. on March 12, 11:30 p.m. March 18 and 4:30 a.m. March 21.
Foley has been nominated six times for Emmy Awards for his documentary filmmaking. Foley is a professor on staff in the UA department of journalism.
