Does this mean we don't have to fire Pelphery right away?

My comment is not intended at any post or poster, but I think "it's early" to be evaluating the team for the 2009 and 2010 season. After all it was Alcorn State and we hung 71 on them in the 1st half with much of the team gone and with Michael Washington pretty much gone for the half with 2 "called" fouls in the first minute. So not sure we know who the team is or will be at this point. (Question, were officials being paid by the call last night?)
But it was a very entertaining exhibition last night, the crowd was better than I anticipated and those who did attend were treated to something few will see in a lifetime, a 50+ scoring barrage in a D-1 basketball game.
Now for the record, there's no shining up this thing, it's embarassing to me personally, the program and the state of Arkansas. Those who can't or won't change, need to go. We need to recruit players and players with character. Kids will make mistakes, we all have and we all will.
But I like what Coach Pelphrey has done with the suspensions. I'm "hopeful" that it has an impact on "some" of these players lifes, but I'm doubtful in some cases. Most of you know me well, I'll give a player a strike, I'll give them two strikes in some cases, but after that I'm pretty much done with it and I think our program should be as well. Probably the only place I differ in some cases from most is my support of the coaches in general.
I do hope that we can find men of character very soon for our basketball program.
Enough said, back to the Rotnei Record-Breaking night.

Does this mean we don't have to fire Pelphery right away? One game changes nothing. I really could give a s*** about Pel or the team and I'll have nothing to do with them as long as certain players remain.

It's a shame that the fans have been driven away in such huge numbers that very few will be able to say they saw it. A definite low point in Razorback history if you ask me.

It's a shame that the fans have been driven away in such huge numbers that very few will be able to say they saw it. A definite low point in Razorback history if you ask me. As for this point in the basketball program, I would say the past 5+ years are a low point. As for the game last night, I would say the exhibition some witnessed is a high point, a record-breaking performace by a young man who appears to have great character and great dedication to the game. The product on the court and off the court has to be improved. The value proposition with basketball is slanted at this point, pricing is too high and the product is too low. But for those who do want to attend tickets can be found at reduced pricing for most games. It appears that you take my sense of 2 or 3 strikes and you are out to a higher level. Which makes me wonder why we don't agree on a couple of issues that we've had differing opinions on?

That's my take on most of this... Go and support the players who are playing and doing things the right way... Let them know we appreciate what they're doing and how they're doing it...
