Captain may be a man of few words, but his on-court play speaks loudlyThe gamble Johnson took on the Hawks four years ago, and the one they took on him, is paying off handsomely for both sides.
Johnson’s rising profile has coincided with the Hawks’ rise from the ashes. After nearly a decade spent in NBA purgatory, the Hawks have made back-to-back playoff appearances and rank among the best young teams in the league, with Johnson as the catalyst.
I remember when Joe opted to sign with the Hawks most people thought it was a terrible move but it is really paying off for Joe. He's managed his career really well, never gets into any trouble and probably doesn't get the respect he deserves, even from Hog fans (I guess because his two years here were fairly unremarkable.)
