Coach Jay Triano confirmed that Sonny Weems will start over rookie DeMar DeRozan for the rest of the season.
Weems has started the last four games for the Raptors and averaged 10.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.0 steals in those contests. He is coming off a sparkling 8-for-8 performance, but that's a little fluky. Since Antonie Wright makes more treys and gets more boards, we'd lean toward adding him over Weems. DeRozan is waiver wire fodder.

The Raptors got an offensive lift from guard Sonny Weems on Saturday, who connected on 9-of-11 FGs and finished with 18 points and five rebounds in 25 minutes.
Weems started but (barring an injury report) it seems his defense limited his playing time. He's shooting 51.4% this season, including an 8-of-8 performance last Wednesday, and could be useful if he keeps getting 30 or so minutes. Just be aware that he rarely gets 3s, steals or assists.

Oh yeah, that 8-for-8 was a fluke, what with him going ONLY 9-for-11 the next time Go Sonny!

Sonny Weems had a career-high 21 points, five rebounds and three assists in Wednesday's loss to the Celtics.
With Chris Bosh (face) out for the season and Hedo Turkoglu (face) possibly suffering the same fate, Weems is in for as many minutes and shots he can handle. He's a mediocre fantasy play because he doesn't shoot 3s or pass well, but games like this are definitely possible. He's worth a plug-n-play down the stretch.

Sonny Weems continued to put up points, finishing with 18 with three rebounds on Friday.
Predictably, Weems didn't attempt a trey and had zero assists, steals or blocks. He's only an option if you specifically need scoring.
