Learned something totally cool last night... April Steiner-Bennett is one of the P.E. coaches at my younger son's middle school (Hellstern Middle School in Springdale)... How cool is that? As if being a Razorback and representing the USA wasn't enough Go April! - Bert

Now Crawford gets silver and Dix bronze.
Guess I shouldn't have asked "What else can go wrong?"...

Dix, who led FSU to a pair of national track championships, finished in fifth place but by the end of Wednesday was a bronze medalist.
The two racers who initially were granted the Silver and Bronze both were disqualified for stepping outside their lanes. Churandy Martina of Netherlands Antilles lost his Silver two hours after the race, after the United States team lodged a protest -- this after Wallace Spearman lost his bronze for the same reason.
Spearman's DQ was more publicly humiliation as he found out while celebrating with Bolt on the track.
That news gave the Bronze, initially, to another American Shawn Crawford. The later Martinas disqualification gave Crawford the Silver, with Dix getting his first medal. The Seminole ran a time of 19.98, which was .03 off of Spearman's original third-place time.

With all of these mental mistakes, I wonder if anyone at US Track & Field wishes they had John McDonnell's focus and discipline on the staff instead of the guys he dominated for years.
He should go to Jamaica to develop a distance and field program to go with their sprinters just for spite.

The US Track team looks like OU in a bowl game. Loaded with athletes, lots of noise and hype, and embarassing results.
