Let's be a little fair to the writers here and see why we're so low. 1. They saw last year as a fluke. And I still not sure it wasn't. Dave Van Horn said we were a year away. Those of us that watched still don't know how these guys won so many games. 2. The pitching staff while we didn't lose first round picks like Rice we did lose 2 of our top 3 guys. Take away Brannon's wins along with Sawatski's wins/saves, and we are dead in the water. I believe we'll be able to fill that in but I don't expect national writers to do that much research. 3. The line-up, we return a lot of starters but we lose 2 key positions 1B and C. By default these guys will touch the ball more than any other fielders. Also take into account the superb and leadership Brady gave us behind the plate and it is a significant loss.
So for now I'm willing to cut these guys some slack but come March when we are rolling throught the non-conference schedule they better be ready to admit they are wrong.

Besides, Pratt? Sure I'll miss him, wondering if he is going to catch the easy pop up? (hey admit it, you never really knew). I'm not that worried about 1b. Catcher could be trickey. but, I in no way give these pollsters any slack.
