Astros vs. Red Sox in WS. Astros win in 6.
The 'Stros biggest challenge is getting by the Cards in the NLCS.

I wouldn't mind rooting for the 'Stros if it weren't for that dang Clemens!
Although I guess that would add some spice to the WS if the Red Sox made it.

All I can say is WOW!
This has been one of the most exciting and dramatic playoffs I've ever seen. And we're not even to the World Series yet!

Between the Hogs and 'Stros, I have been on a steady dose of baseball since February. I'm sure that I will go through withdrawals. When the WS is over, I'm sure that I will require professional help. Hello. I'm Dad, and I am a baseballaholic.

I'm not really much of a Red Sox fan, but like most I'm a Yankee Hater. It was so great to see a team 3 outs away from an ALCS sweep suddenly find themselves playing dead at home in game 7. All the talk today is that the curse is lifted, but there's still a WS they have to play.
It will be interesting to see who will come out of the NL(Central) Series. While I'll fall on the Cardinals side of the fence for this series, I must say I disagree with Dale. Clemens is one of the reasons I like the Astros.
Either way I'll be rooting for the NL team in the series, but that it goes 7 games; and the Sox lose in some dramatic fashion that lets them continue to lament the curse.
One great thing about watching baseball is the chance to question every decision a manger makes and I must say despite both teams winning I really want to question 2 calls that had me, and I'm sure many others, screaming. 1. Tony LaRussa intentioally walks Beltran. There were 2 outs. A runner on second. Yes Beltran has been swinging a hot stick, but he's 1/7 against Izzy and is followed by Bagwell. Let me say I hate intentional walks in general, and I believe with 2 outs you pitch to anyone. The worst thing that could happen is Beltran gets a HR and you trail by 1. But this is baseball and even a hot player has roughly a 60% chance of failing. Instead he put the go ahead run on 1st and Bagwell comes through with the RBI.
2. Francona's decision to bring in Pedro. While it could have been funny to let Pedro finish off the Yankees. It was too early and almost hurt the team. First, Derek Lowe was still rolling and had only thrown like 70 pitches in 6 innings. Let him keep going until he gets into trouble. Second, Pedro's entrance excited a silent NY crowd. From heads in hands to "Who's Your Daddy?!" Pedro of course didn't get into too much trouble allowing a couple runs, but it seemed like it could have fallen apart.

I couldn't believe he brought in Pedro. It was S-T-U-P-I-D!!! I have to wonder if he will be able to pitch on Saturday in Game 1? As for Lowe, I could understand taking him out b/c he pitched a couple of days ago and you don't want to risk him getting hurt. I probably would have left him in though.

Well, the Sox won. Just as I'd hoped! I'm torn a little though. On one hand, I'm glad that it was a sweep. On the other hand, no more baseball!

I was very disappopinted in the World Series. After both sides put up amazing League championship series. The Cardinals apparently were expecting Babe Ruth to get the hits for them. I expected another 7 games series and hoped for a StL win. But it's great to see Boston finally get the curse off their backs.
