Drove by the field yesterday and the fountain in lake Norm was on!
I don't think they ever even turned it on during a game this year, but they can have it on during November?

I noticed that a week ago. They probably turned it on to arerate the water and get the scum out of it. I don't know why they don't have it on during the season though.
Maybe they turned it on because of the traffic from the various events that occur in the fall in town and they want to highlight the stadium.

Has anyone ever hit one in the pond? Quite a shot if they have....what is that distance?

I believe someone has but I can't recall who. It might have been Rodney Nye. But I want to say it was one of the LSU sluggers from 4-5 years ago.
The actual distance to the pond is long. 405 to the wall plus another 30+ feet maybe. But the real trick is getting a ball past that batters eye.

Bandon Larson did it in what i believe was 97, although it could have been 96. I know he did it once, but he did it in batting practice several times. he put on quite a show along with eddie furnis

Okay, I thought it was Larson but then I was thinking he was gone before we played in Baum.

Has the pond past the right field bullpen been the recepient of any balls? That would be a shot also.

I noticed the fountain was on again Saturday. Crazy. Craziness I say!
We nee a sponser who will give away something when a ball is hit into the fountain. That would be cool.

I remember during the high school all star game a couple of years ago John Long from Smackover hit one in the pond in right....signed with the Hogs that summer and is now in Baton Rouge at a junior college...good luck to him....
