The food could use a huge upgrade. The burgers off the Big Red Hog Grill are good but the Sodexo stuff at the regular concessions stands is horrible. Same problem at basketball though. We used to have the Sodexo hotdogs in Nashville until they switched to something just as bad. Best dog I've had at a game recently was at Miami. They have the Sabrett brand that's big in NYC. Not quite a Fenway Frank, but a good baseball dog. I always thought it would be neat to have student housing with balconeys in the outfield, maybe you could fit a dorm in behind the right field wall. Put some bleachers on top Wrigley field style.

You've got the room if you filled up part of the pond. Heck, just turn the pond into a swimming pool. Just hold a competition so that the students who make the most football, basketball, and baseball games get first dibs. Imagine five floors and a roof packed with the hottest party in town right on top of the visitor's bullpen. Call it the Hog Hilton. Could also serve as a windbreak for some of your lefthanders.

Lake Norm is there for a reason. It serves an actual purpose even though the sludge is an inch thick. They need to aat least clean it up and turn the fountain on. There are some thigns that they could do to improve the look of it. It could even add some aesthetic value if it was landscaped, etc.

Baum is a great facility but you don't become great by being satisfied. In no particular order.
Better food options. First rate stadium/second rate food.
Live game video in the concession areas.
Seats behind the visitors bullpen.
Our announcer is the GREATEST and the pregame and between innings is great. But after you have been to a dozen or some home games you would like to see things mixed up a bit. Maybe Ribbi, an RBI girl and Hognoxious in a race around the warning track. Could that lull a crowd to sleep when you have the same events and announcements at the same time during each game, game after game?
During the 7th inning stretch in TN or Kty or GA or somewhere they flashed profiles of some of the grounds crew on the score board (like we have with the players) while they were tiddying up the field. Nice touch.
Razorbacks or Arkansas or a hog or something painted on top of the dugouts.
When we were at Louisianna Tech they had their new football coach throw out the first pitch. Would have been nice to have our basketball coach do that sometime.

Radar, ditch the spa, dot races, hog porch from pole to pole.
Allow trailers in the scholarship lot. Had to unload and move it to the bikini lot across Razorback. We were told the scholarship lot was for 'vehicles only'. What the difference if I parked my truck across the street but left my trailer. Had to wait till all the traffic let out before we could go get the trailer and bring it back to load it up.
Makes no sense!

Let me add: why not during midweek games have dollar dogs? or something fun? What would be the problem with that?
We were at a minor league game, and they threw out ice cream bars? I forget what the exact promotion was, but that's kind of cool.
also, if you are gonna send the gals out during the 7th inning stretch, give them more than 5 or 6 food items to throw out. that doesn't do much when there's 10,000 fans.

Nice touch. haha great idea! BTW we do quite a bit to keep that pond reasonable. There is only so much you can do. We had it algae free and actually a tint of blue for one of the series but it doesn't last long. I have also seen them out there in a john boat skimming the algae off the top. We put that little fence up in front of the drain to keep it from getting all over those rocks. One day they had about 4 people lined up along the edge with rakes pulling all the crap out of it and we do trash runs around it to keep it tidy at least. As for the fountain, it's not that we haven't tried, it's all the red tape and the so called 10 month rule (for example if you ask for fountains in March, you should get them by the following january. ;D)

Hey Cliff, Hats off to the grounds crew member that took the foul ball in the gut on Sunday's game just before ya'll went out to drag the field, he never rubbed it once. A cleaner job fielding it would've been better but he still would've had time to make the throw so no error given.
The field looks great by the way!

Radar gun would be nice. Also, small score boards on each concourse so you can see the score and count without having to look at the outfield. They would hang down from the skyboxes, like most all other nice parks have.
About the pond, there is not getting rid of it, the field drains into it. So if you took it out, you would have to redo all the drainge for the field, which would be a big mess and take about 3 years for the university to figure that all out (not the groundscrew). Also, the grate that was put on the spillway was not to keep the algae off the rocks, but to keep the grass carp that was put into the pond in the pond when the water level rose high enough to wash the fish over.

I couldn't see it because I was down in the photo well but earlier this year a camera man caught a ball bare handed that would have hit me because I was tying my shoe at the time. He caught it directly above me. I offered to take him for a beer after the game.

I just thought that since they put it up directly after we cleaned over there that that was what it was for. thanks for the correction.

Makes no sense! While I don't personally like the rule, it has always been the same. Most of us get there early and stay late, so space isn't an issue. However, you have to realize the athletic department's viewpoint that it could be quite a liability and potential hazzard to have people backing trailers in a cramped parking lot with pedestrians everywhere.
