His pitch count was getting high...no need to risk injury when this tournament is not the light at the end of the tunnel.
If he is disappointed, I am okay with it because he needs to learn that the game is about the team success and not individual -- this is doubly tough when you have set a record. You did you job and then some more. Hand the ball off to your teammate/closer to do his.
I believe that Jorn does a good job of asking the input of his players about how much they have left, but I know that the coaches have the final say. It should be that way --- the coaches lead the team before the players arrive and will do so long after players leave.

I think DVH should be commended for the decision, since he gets blamed when he leaves guys out there too long. Todd would have thrown 130+ if he pitched the 9th.

Smart move by Jorn, He has the record, he's thrown like 8 innings every game he's played it seems like and there is no need to risk injury.

How long did it take to figure that one up. ;D
