What a game! Sure wish I'd been able to see it. For anyone who did, how did Jess look?

I am imagining productivity will be up tomorrow at many workplaces since the hogs have an off day.

man, did anyone else feel that logan wanted to prove he was better than their 3rd baseman? since Chuck said he was the one who took logan's spot on All-SEC?
This team seems to be playing with a fire we haven't seen lately. Congrads! Hogs! Congrads! Todd!

On the post-game press conference on XM, they were talking about the importance of getting the early lead which let Schmidt and Todd relax and do their thing.

What a game! Sure wish I'd been able to see it. For anyone who did, how did Jess look? The first and second times thru the order he was completely overpowering. The SC hitters, were simply not close to putting good wood aluminum on the stuff Todd was bringing. I didn't count, but I'd wager good money that he threw more sliders than anything thru the first 5 or so innings. He said after the game that this was the first time all year he had been able to locate all 3 pitches for strikes. Even the ones that were fortunate enough to foul off pitches were barely making contact (foul tips, nubbers at the plate, etc.). It was like watching a college pitcher pitch to a high school lineup or a major league pitcher pitching to a college team. You very rarely see that kind of dominance at any level, much less between 2 Top 15 SEC teams. You will have to get a copy from someone that taped or recorded it. It was one of those games that I felt fortunate that I was able to watch that performance. Simply amazing. Todd had wicked stuff tonight.

I like the statistic thrown out by Chuck that Arkansas is 35-9 when they score first. It shows the fact that we have gotten the early lead in 44 of our 58 games and have been able to keep it. Way to go hogs!

They don't look like a team that's given up. (I was going to bump that thread just for grins and perspective, but it's locked.) Great to see them playing well again.

Not trying to start stuff on here, but it was brought up on *that other board* that Todd may be miffed that they pulled him before he could pitch a complete game shutout. Which brings up 2 questions: a) Do you think they brought Todd in on the decision b) If not, do you agree with the decision (even though we all obviously liked the outcome?) Discuss.

a) Do you think they brought Todd in on the decision b) If not, do you agree with the decision (even though we all obviously liked the outcome?) Discuss. He'd thrown 119 pitches and set the K record. No reason AT ALL to leave him out there. Plenty more baseball to play this year.
