Rotoworld -
Yankees first base prospect Greg Bird will be promoted from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday.
Bird has hit well at every level of the minors and boasts a .301/.353/.500 batting line with six home runs in 34 games since his July promotion to Triple-A. The 22-year-old probably won't play much behind Mark Teixeira and Alex Rodriguez, but he's a guy to watch for in the future. New York is playing a string of 16 consecutive games and wanted another backup option at DH and first base.
Signed with the Hogs, but never made it to campus.

Got a hit in the 10th inning last night and scored the winning run for the Yanks. Tonight he got his first RBI and got the Yankees in front of the Twins 1-0. I believe he would have been a Hog in 2012.

Wow! 2 home runs and 4 rbis in 4-3 Yankee win this afternoon. Crud, he would have looked good in a Razorback uniform, sigh....,

Another one, same signing class -
Michael Fulmer could be called up to fill Daniel Norris' spot in the Tigers' starting rotation.
Norris is headed to the disabled list with an oblique strain that he suffered Wednesday night at Wrigley Field. Fulmer, acquired from the Mets in last month's Yoenis Cespedes trade, holds a 1.97 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and 107/27 K/BB ratio in 109 2/3 innings this season between High-A and Double-A. The 22-year-old right-hander would be worth consideration in deep mixed fantasy leagues if he does indeed get the call.

Although Howard, Nimmo, Bird and Fulmer never made it to campus, that was a helluva recruiting class. I saw where Nimmo is on the verge of being called up to the majors. Anderson, Spoon and Serrano were also in that class and all were major contributors.
