Not that many people there but it was nice to just see a bunch of fans that love the Hogs, everybody wearing Hogs shirts and hats, little kids wearing D-Mac jerseys.
I get almost nothing out of football scrimmages as 1) I do not know who most of the players are without their names and 2) I can never tell if...say, the offense just did something good, or the defense just did something bad.
In any case, Casey Dick worked first at QB, Nathan Emert worked 2nd, and Nathan Dick worked third. Emert is better than I thought he'd be and Nathan Dick has a cannon for a arm and is bigger than his brother. Casey didn't look fantastic but he was playing the first team defense.
The defense looked really energetic, itching to hit somebody. It was good to see. I started to feel sorry for the running backs without black jerseys as they got smashed. Freddie Fairchild really stood out.
Fish and Michael Smith worked punt returns. At one point Fish let a punt go and it went into the end zone and the crowd cheered really loud. lol poor Fish.
D-Mac, Jones and Hillis didn't work that much. We saw a couple of different looks out of the "wildhog" formation and I'm betting that formation will feature a lot of different stuff this year. One thing was D-Mac at QB, with Hillis beside him, and Jones split wide.
Tejada is much better than Davis. There were a few similarly build white guys punting so I couldn't tell who was doing well there.
That's all I gots.

Also, Marcus Monk had a small brace on his knee and was on the sidelines in shorts. He was walking with a slight limp but it was good to at least see him out there and moving around.

Monk needs to concentrate on getting healthy for the season, we talkin bout practice! ;D. Glad he's out there supporting his team, I just hope they don't try to get him back before his knee is 100%. We can ill afford to lose our main target in our already nearly non-existent passing attack. I hope Rojo continues to do well and hopefully Crawford or Wade or someone else will step up and be a real strong second option when Casey is scanning the field. I think teams have figured out that if it's not a run, that it's going to monk or Hillis out of the backfield. That's why I'm glad they are working with the wildhog and having Felix out wide. I think that can open up a lot for other passing options.

Looking at the pictures on Razorbloggers, Nathan Dick is skinny, I mean really skinny...I hope he doesn't have to play this year because SEC defenders would snap him like Carlos Zambrano snaps his bat
