I agree playing Ole Miss is stupid. Also if we don't have any rain outs and have to cancel a game the last non conference home game is vs WSU. Hopefully if by the N.Colorado series if we dont have any rainout we cancel one of them

I think our scheduling is a joke. This the one area where I continue to disagree with DVH. We have the nicest park in the country, USE IT. It is asinine for a major SEC school to barely play 1/2 of its games at home. We have no business going on the road to play teams like Troy or La. Tech. Make them come here. If they won't, somebody else will. I can buy the arguement that you need one early road trip for team chemistry. So take one weekend, go play in a tournament somewhere. Play two traditional top-25 type teams home-and-home so that one of those series is home and one is away each year. We have no marquee non-conference match-ups. Go ahead and rip me, but I think it is a really disappointing schedule.

The reason we facing Ole Miss in the tournament is b/c Ole Miss was originally scheduled to be in it this year. Last year we backed out of the DQ Classic to go to Hawaii (what a good move, huh?) and Nebraska took our place. This year DVH had to make it up to Minnesota, so two SEC will be in it versus the normal 1 team.

P.S. Remember Texas was supposed to be on the schedule this year.

I guess DVH thinks the team will fare better playing games stretched over a longer period of time, re the early Feb. start.
Did the uniform later starting date pass the NCAA?

The disappointing thing about our schedule (besides the lack of home games) is that the most exciting game is a single mid-week game against Wichita State.
It's so ho hum. Northern Colorado, La Tech, Missouri State, ORU. yawn. Our season starts on groundhog day. Appropriate because we've done this all before.

Did the uniform later starting date pass the NCAA? Yes, starts in 08. You think this might mean more home games since the team can't go early to warm weather sites?

The La Tech extended series was set up long before DVH got here. I hear that this is supposed to be the last year though.
