Excellent!
I'm sure if there was a trophy, it would look really good in your trophy case.

We should have an award for being the most consistant, I think that one will go to Matthew

And here I thought that by not actually picking a player for any game, I had it sewn up. Maybe I need to re-read the rules or something.

Yeah, participation isn't worth anything but it still counts.

Yeah, participation isn't worth anything but it still counts. Is this an interpretation of my brother's heckle, "even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then"? I suppose that even if I just chose random people off the lineup, I'd get more than I got by abstaining? Honestly, the only reason I abstained is that despite the superstition-free warning, I just know that anyone I chose would not only do horribly but would make sure to strike out during rally situations and make errors with runners in scoring position, making the person likely to lose the game for us. I am fine with knowing that I will never win the contest as long as it will make the hogs win... By the way, I think that the trophy for this should be shaped like either the hands or the giant golden tower from the ORU campus, just because both are absurd to me. I think the hands are better, so I support those. Maybe someone else will back me up on this and we can finally get a "real" trophy...

It seemed to work out as good or better than most people playing.

Wow, that kind of jumps off the screen at you, Charlie.
Maybe I should always pick the players who strike out or commit errors to try and offset whoever else is doing that. Or I could always pick Brian Walker and I'll at least tie someone.

After careful research maybe the youngster is not just blindly loyal to his favorite player, but another baseball guru which there are obviously too many of since there are 12 pages of posts since the end of the regular season. POG broken down by players
Schmidt 9 (+1) = 10 Hamblin 9 Walker 9 Gentry 7 (+2) = 9 Dugger 7 Hollensworth 7 Arnold 6 (+1)= 7 Ewing 6 (+1) = 7 Siebert 4 (+1) = 5 Parker 4 Willard 4 Hum 3 (+1) = 4 Maday 3 (+1) = 4 Robison 3 Rhoads 3 Collis 3 Hrozek2 Holloway 2 McClelland 2 Forsythe 1 Gilbert 1 Land 1 None 1
+ is to indicate they earned one during the postseason thus adds to the actual points you would have gotten by picking them.
So to adopt Matthew's strategy and beat him you'd have to take Schmidt every day. Also it shows you could go really high in the standings by picking Schmidt on his day then the right hitter every other day. Schmidt/Dugger = 17 (no overlap)- tied for 5th Schmidt/Arnold = 17 (no overlap) - tied for 5th Schmidt/Hamblin = 16 points (Hamblin has 3 points on Schmidt starts) -tied for 8th. Schmidt/Walker = 15 (Walker has 4 on Schmidt starts)- tied for 9th Schmidt/Gentry = 15 (Gentry scored 1st SECT game)- tied for 9th Schmidt/Hollensworth = 15 (2 overlaps)- tied for 9th Schmidt/Ewing = 14 (3 overlaps, not the post season one) - tied for 10th
Also I could submit that Drizzle and all other dissenters could earn a point for the Friday Georgia game where the answer was "none".
