Not really former Hog news but couldn't find the right spot for it. I what seems to be a shocker the athletic department has actually released a schedule a year ahead of time. The schedule has again expnaded to 12 games and includes 6 HOME games, 2 more home games, and just 4 road games.
For those that wonder about the distinction, I have made my dislike for LR games known. Given the current confines of U of A situation, I still wish they would switch the LSU game to Fayetteville and put Ole Miss in LR.
Primarily, I think you should put the best games in the bigger stadium. (Actually, as I alluded to I think they should all be here but that's not an option right now) That would make for a good Fayetteville slate which already boasts USC, Bama, and Tennessee a great one.
Secondly, I don't like the way the dates play out for either site really. Having 3 straight games in Fayetteville seems great in theory, but in reality it becomes taxing and I'd much rather have them spread over a longer period. Also from LR perspective, having the first and last games being there leaves nearly 3 months in between games.
On a less consequential note, I have hated playing the final game at LR because it makes Senior day seem awkward. The final Fay game is designated as such but it's not like that's really the end for them because most the same fans will be seeing them in LR 2 weeks later. But to have senior day away from campus would be even more ridiculous.

Thanks Heath. I can't believe this is out already!
The USC game should be great atomosphere! I'm no fan of the LR games either. It would be nice to see LSU play once in a while. As is, I may never see them play.
Only having four home games this year is rediculous.

Maybe that was the thinking on getting the schedule out so early. It will deflect complaints about this year's Fayetteville schedule. To be limited to 4 games is a bit sad. Add on that there are no top names this season unless Auburn is much better thatn expected after losing an offense. SMS, Vandy, Auburn, and SC are hard to take 1 year after having both Texas and UGA on the Hill. I now realize Frank had to move the SC game up here to try to sell some tickets. If it were SMS, Vandy, Auburn, and MSU season tickets would have fell off a cliff.
But you see the line-up set for next year in Fayetteville and you can convince a few people to buy season passes just to be set for next year.

I think you're right. Really no other explanation to the unusual timing.
