Darren McFadden said he feels "fresh" and "like the same guy."
"I've been taking care of my body, doing everything I'd do as if I was playing," McFadden said. "I definitely still have speed to break away, so if you see me in the open field, don't look for me to get caught." McFadden has yet to be active this season, but he is expected to form a committee with Alfred Morris while Ezekiel Elliott is suspended. McFadden will be on the wrong side of that timeshare to start, but this will likely be a fluid situation. He needs to be rostered in all leagues until the backfield shakes out.

Cowboys waived Darren McFadden.
It is not a surprise considering McFadden could not crack the game-day roster even with Ezekiel Elliott suspended. With a reasonable salary, McFadden could end up getting claimed, and he should land with another team in the near future even is he slips through waivers. The Cowboys will continue to ride with Alfred Morris and Rod Smith as their top two backs until Zeke returns.

Darren McFadden has announced his retirement after 10 years in the NFL.
Waived by the Cowboys two days ago, McFadden went unclaimed on waivers. Even with Ezekiel Elliott suspended since Week 10, 30-year-old McFadden had been unable to get on the field for the Cowboys, getting scratched twice in three games since Zeke's ban took effect. Frankly, McFadden looked done in the preseason. He's apparently come to the same conclusion. It's a quiet end to a career that never quite lived up to expectations but was ultimately solid. The No. 4 overall pick of the 2008 draft after a sensational career at Arkansas, McFadden had 1,000-yard rushing seasons with both the Raiders and Cowboys. Much of McFadden's once-prodigious juice was sapped by early-career injuries. He retires with a career 4.16 YPC and 33 total touchdowns.
