Darren McFadden managed 20 yards on 13 carries but caught four balls for a team-high 47 yards in the Raiders' Week 9 loss to Seattle. He averaged exactly 1.54 yards per carry. McFadden's biggest gain came on a third-down checkdown pass for 23 yards. He was otherwise bottled up on his touches and lost late-game playing time to Maurice Jones-Drew, who predictably (again) did very little with his opportunities. McFadden will remain a poor flex option when the Raiders take on the Broncos in Week 10.Not good.

Darren McFadden managed 14 yards on seven carries and four catches for 22 yards in the Raiders' Week 10 loss to Denver.
As expected, the Raiders got nothing going on the ground against Denver's league-best run defense. And the Raiders continue to underutilize DMC in the passing game, only throwing him checkdowns and never scheming him into space. Even against an average Chargers run defense in Week 11, McFadden will be a low-end flex option.

Darren McFadden managed 21 yards on eight carries and zero receptions on three targets in the Raiders' Week 11 loss to San Diego.
The Raiders' backfield devolved into a three-way timeshare against the Chargers, with Latavius Murray (7 touches) and Maurice Jones-Drew (4 touches) mixing in. McFadden is safe to drop in 10- and 12-team leagues for the fantasy stretch run. We'd rather take a flier on Murray's superior upside as an RB4/5 "stash."

Darren McFadden rushed 12 times for 29 yards in Oakland's Week 12 win over the Chiefs, adding two catches for an additional five yards.
McFadden once again led the Raiders in (ineffective) touches, but refreshingly, that's not how they drew it up. Oakland came out handing the ball off to Latavius Murray after DMC drew the "start," but a wildly effective Murray (4/112/2) was limited to only four carries by a concussion. Then McFadden took over and the Raiders' rushing attack went back in the tank. DMC simply doesn't make defenders miss. He's now averaging 3.37 yards per carry. Provided Murray can get cleared for Week 13, we fully expect him to be the Raiders' new lead rusher.

Darren McFadden managed 27 yards on 11 carries and two catches for 18 yards in the Raiders' Week 13 loss to the Rams.
McFadden got the start with Latavius Murray (concussion) inactive, but was his typically ineffective self. He actually got outplayed by washed-up Maurice Jones-Drew in this game. McFadden is safe to drop by any owners still rostering him in the fantasy playoffs. The Raiders play the 49ers next.

Darren McFadden rushed four times for five yards in the Raiders' Week 14 win over the 49ers.
McFadden has been weeded out of the Raiders' offense in favor of Latavius Murray. A free agent in the offseason, "DMC" is entering his final three-game stretch as a Raider.

Darren McFadden rushed two times for 13 yards Week 15 against the Chiefs.
McFadden did not get his first touch until late in the first quarter and is well behind Latavius Murray on the depth chart. He can be dropped in all formats.

Darren McFadden rushed for 54 yards on nine carries in the Raiders' Week 16 win over the Bills.
He caught one pass for no gain. McFadden was the breather back to Latavius Murray, who managed 108 total yards on 26 touches. DMC broke off a 26-yard run down to the two-yard line late in the fourth quarter. He got the call on the next play but was stuffed for no gain. Jamize Olawale caught a two-yard touchdown next. McFadden will fill the same role once again in Week 17 at Denver.

Darren McFadden rushed four times for 13 yards and caught two passes for six yards in Sunday's Week 17 loss at Denver.
The Raiders tried to saddle up McFadden as a feature back again this season, but were predictably met with awful results. Clearly only a straight-line back that needs Hue Jackson's scheme to be successful, DMC finished with 156 carries for 534 yards (3.42 YPC) and two touchdowns. He was thoroughly outplayed by Latavius Murray, the likely 2015 starter, down the stretch. McFadden, now entering his age-28 season, will be met with a cold market in free agency once again this spring.

The Raiders are not expected to re-sign free agent Darren McFadden.
The emergence of Latavius Murray combined with McFadden's ineffectiveness in 2014 sealed his fate. Last offseason, Oakland brought McFadden back on a "basement-bargain" one-year deal, but it doesn't appear they'll offer the same courtesy in 2015. McFadden has never lived up to his massive potential, logging 1,000 yards rushing just once in seven seasons. At this point in his career, a backup gig is probably the best McFadden can hope for on the open market.

Cowboys signed RB Darren McFadden to a two-year contract.
The deal is pending a physical. McFadden certainly won't be able to fill the shoes of DeMarco Murray, who scorned the Cowboys to sign with division rival Philadelphia. McFadden ran into brick walls all year in Oakland, averaging just 3.4 yards per carry in 2014. The silver lining is that he stayed healthy for the first time in his career. McFadden isn't talented enough to carry a backfield, so look for the Cowboys to add another rusher to pair with him. Former Patriots back Stevan Ridley could be a possibility.

The Cowboys reportedly targeted Darren McFadden as a "home-run hitting backup."
Yahoo's Charles Robinson says Dallas envisions McFadden playing "second fiddle" to a starting back. The Cowboys will likely find that starter in the draft. McFadden may have been a "home-run hitter" coming out of Arkansas in 2008, but he certainly no longer is going on age 28. McFadden has averaged below 3.5 YPC in three straight years. His receiving skills have also diminished.

Darren McFadden's hamstring injury is not to the leg that sidelined him in OTAs.
Unbelievable. Coach Jason Garrett is "hopeful" DMC will be back in a "week or so," but the Cowboys are learning all they need to know about McFadden's lack of durability. McFadden was already far from a roster lock, but his inability to stay on the field in even shorts and t-shirts is likely doing major damage to his 53-man odds.

Darren McFadden rushed 29 times for 152 yards and a touchdown in Dallas' Week 7 loss to the Giants, adding two catches for 10 additional yards. All the Week 7 hype was centered around Christine Michael, but it was McFadden who put the Cowboys on his back after Joseph Randle departed early in the first quarter with a back injury. The 100-yard performance was Dallas' first of the season, and came against a run defense that had been permitting just 3.7 yards per carry and 94 yards per game. McFadden stayed downhill all afternoon, making one cut and finishing his runs hard. It was a performance that likely wrested No. 1 duties away from Randle. The bad news is, Dallas gets the Seahawks for Week 8. DMC will be a low-end RB2 for that matchup. So cool to see DMac running like that!
