The Contra Costa Times believes it's "not a stretch" to think fourth-round pick Tyler Wilson could surpass Matt Flynn and Terrelle Pryor on the Raiders' quarterback depth chart this season.
Wilson reportedly looked like a "seasoned veteran" at rookie minicamp, throwing the football with placement and velocity. He'll look even better in preseason games because Wilson stands tall and firm in the pocket and isn't gunshy under pressure. "Throwing the ball, he’s done a nice job," said coach Dennis Allen. "I don’t have any question about his arm strength and his accuracy."

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported on NFL 32 that fourth-round pick Tyler Wilson made a "very big impression" on Raiders brass during his first week of offseason practices.
Mort suggested Raiders officials believe Wilson "looks a little better than (they) thought" he would. It's a positive early step because Wilson is likely to shine in live, contact situations as well due to his toughness in the pocket. Right now, Wilson is just throwing the ball against air and DBs who can't hit. In terms of being a value pick, Wilson was our favorite quarterback in the 2013 draft.

Raiders signed fourth-round QB Tyler Wilson to a four-year contract.
Wilson, the No. 112 overall pick, was taken 14 picks after Matt Barkley and two picks after Ryan Nassib. The rookie reportedly showed well in spring practices, and some local beat writers believe it wouldn't be a "stretch" to think Wilson could start games in year one. Wilson doesn't have the strongest arm or the pin-point accuracy, but he possesses the guts and toughness.

According to the Oakland Tribune, rookie QB Tyler Wilson "has had some rough moments" early in Raiders camp, "and is getting his feet wet."
Early camp reports have Matt Flynn and Terrelle Pryor pulling away from Wilson atop Oakland's depth chart. Per the Tribune, Flynn is the starter "and has done nothing to lose ground." We'll keep tabs on Wilson throughout preseason.

Rookie QB Tyler Wilson already "seems to be getting fewer snaps" after one week of Raiders camp.
Undrafted rookie Matt McGloin is getting more third-team action. It's not a good sign for Wilson, who had a nice spring but has lost all of his steam since camp opened. In Friday's practice, Wilson fumbled a center snap, then attempted to throw over the middle and was intercepted by RB-turned-CB Taiwan Jones.

Raiders coach Dennis Allen acknowledged Sunday rookie Tyler Wilson is losing camp reps because he's "behind from a mental standpoint."
Allen did say he believes Wilson has "all the physical tools," but he's been losing practice time to UDFA Matt McGloin. Matt Flynn is entrenched as Oakland's starter, and Terrelle Pryor has all but locked up primary backup duties. Wilson could still make a run at the No. 2 job with a strong preseason performance.

Fourth-round QB Tyler Wilson has fallen to fourth on the Raiders' depth chart.
Wilson is behind Matt Flynn, Terrelle Pryor and UDFA Matt McGloin. He's barely getting any reps at practice now. "Well, I think he's got the physical tools," coach Dennis Allen said. "I think he's behind from a mental part of the game, and that's where he's got to continue to work to improve." In terms of long-term development, Wilson still has a higher ceiling than McGloin. The game's just moving too fast for him right now.

ESPN AFC West blogger Bill Williamson calls Raiders QB Tyler Wilson the "most disappointing rookie" in the division.
Per Williamson, it appears Wilson is "falling further behind the Raiders' quarterback pack every day." Wilson fell behind UDFA Matt McGloin earlier this month, and has struggled mightily with the mental side of the game. Wilson was 3-of-6 for 28 yards in last week's preseason opener. At least so far, the Raiders have perhaps the weakest draft class in the league. That's a major problem, as they easily have the least impressive collection of veterans.

Tyler Wilson hasn't gotten a single snap in either of the last two preseason games.
Wilson has fallen well behind undrafted free agent and former Penn State walk-on Matt McGloin for the No. 3 job. His big chance comes Thursday night, as he'll finally get extended preseason action. Wilson's roster spot is not secure despite his fourth-round pick status.

Looks like Tyler is ok for now.
The Raiders have four quarterbacks and two punters on their roster. Can you say dysfunctional?

Raiders waived QB Tyler Wilson.
He'll likely be claimed off waivers shortly. Wilson, the 112th overall pick in April's draft, struggled with the mental side of the game in Raiders camp and fell behind undrafted free agent Matt McGloin. GM Reggie McKenzie is keeping McGloin, Matt Flynn, and Terrelle Pryor on the roster at quarterback.

Raiders promoted QB Tyler Wilson from their practice squad.
With Terrelle Pryor (knee) sidelined, Wilson will serve as Matt McGloin's backup this week. The 112th overall pick in April's draft has spent the entire season on the Raiders practice squad.

Raiders waived QB Tyler Wilson.
Wilson, the No. 112 overall pick in April's draft, has been a colossal flop. He'll likely revert back to the practice squad once he clears waivers.
