Darren McFadden (knee surgery) has been ruled out for Week 7.
Being ruled out so early is not a good sign for McFadden's chances of playing in Week 8. The Raiders are probably targeting their Week 9 bye for him to get healthy. It looks like Justin Fargas will start against the Jets.

Raiders beat writer Jerry McDonald guesses that the best-case scenario for Darren McFadden's return from his knee injury is after the team's Week 9 bye.
The fact that McDonald isn't even confident McFadden will be back for Week 10 in concerning. When McFadden went down in Week 4, the original diagnosis was 2-4 weeks. The chances McFadden comes back in a big way are looking slim.

Darren McFadden (knee) missed Raiders practice Wednesday.
McFadden is very unlikely to even be available for limited practice duty this week. Coming off in-season knee surgery, he has no timetable to return.

Darren McFadden has finally resumed doing light jogging off to the side of Raiders practice while coming off in-season knee surgery.
He also did agility work Friday, which marked the first time he's been spotted during the media-access portion of practice. McFadden did not take part in team drills and remains out indefinitely with no known timetable for return.

Darren McFadden has finally resumed making cuts after in-season knee surgery.
McFadden is uncertain for Week 10 (Oakland has a Week 9 bye), but went through an intensive workout Monday. He's "shooting" to be ready against the Chiefs after the off week. McFadden was dropped in many leagues after being slow to recover from the operation, but should be picked back up.

Darren McFadden (knee) and Chaz Schilens (foot) both participated in the Raiders' bye week practice Wednesday.
This is promising for their chances of returning in Week 10. Schilens has not played all year, while McFadden recently began making cuts on his surgically repaired knee. Pick up McFadden in all leagues. Oakland's offensive line has been consistently opening holes for the far less talented Justin Fargas.

Darren McFadden rushed just four times for 11 yards in the Raiders' loss to the Chiefs.
McFadden was used sparingly in his first game coming off knee surgery. Perhaps Oakland's coaches weren't impressed with his pregame warmups, as Michael Bush started the game with Justin Fargas coming in for relief. It will take a couple of weeks for McFadden to get back in the groove.

Darren McFadden ran for 25 yards on six carries and caught three passes for 10 yards in the Raiders' Week 11 win.
McFadden's nine touches were second to Justin Fargas (ten), even though Michael Bush (four) started the game. McFadden will be the best bet for work here going forward, but he needs to make Fargas and Bush irrelevant again to be considered for fantasy use. He is still worth owning in all leagues.
