Johnson won't sign extension

The Hawks extended a four-year, $60-plus million contract offer to Johnson this summer. But Johnson said he decided not to sign the extension after mulling it over during the offseason.

And that ball's hit deep to left! EIBNER ties it with a 2-run homer in the 9th! Holy Cow!

Joe Johnson scored 27 points on 8-of-16 shooting (3-of-6 from downtown, 8-of-10 from the foul line) in his matchup against Kobe Bryant and the Lakers on Sunday, adding nine rebounds, four assists, and one steal.

Considering he had to get by both Kobe and Ron Artest, this is an extremely solid performance. His numbers may get eaten into a bit by Jamal Crawford's presence, but most of that production will come at the expense of Mike Bibby, and not Johnson.

Joe Johnson scored 26 points on 10-of-16 shooting in Saturday's victory, the first time he's scored 20+ in back-to-back games this season.

Johnson's assists and 3-pointers are down this season, but his rebounding has increased and he's attempting the same amount of shots as last year. He's a rock-solid #1 fantasy guard despite the presence of sixth-man Jamal Crawford.

Joe Johnson scored a season-high 35 points on Monday, helping the Hawks defeat the Trail Blazers in overtime.

The Blazers tried to double-team Johnson early and often, but his ability to distribute the ball (nine assists) makes that tough to sustain. Johnson is now averaging 28.6 points over the past three games.

Joe Johnson scored 30 points in the second straight game, hitting 11-of-21 shots and five threes in an easy win over the Heat.

The Hawks are undefeated at home and 10-2 on the season. Johnson got angry with his teammates after one of their losses, but has taken control of the offense since then. Al Horford chipped in with another double-double, adding 16 points and 12 boards on the night.

Jamal Crawford, who got off to a hot start with the Hawks this season, hit just 3-of-10 shots for 10 points in Wednesday's win.

Crawford has cooled off since Joe Johnson ripped his teammates for selfish play, and it's possible that Crawford has decided to take less shots to appease JJ (and for the good of the team). He played 28 minutes, so you have to think he'll start scoring again at some point.

Joe Johnson exploded for 31 points on Saturday, going 13-of-24 from the field with seven rebounds, three assists and one steal.

The Mavericks backcourt couldn't handle Johnson's size, strength and athleticism, and they're not alone. He'll have a few quiet nights when a teammate (usually Jamal Crawford) gets hot, but normally he's Atlanta's default go-to guy.
